Terms of Service

1. Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using RivrDEX (the "Protocol"), including its website at rivrdex.io, any associated smart contracts, and related services (collectively, the "Services"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, do not use the Services.

2. Description of Services

RivrDEX is a decentralized exchange ("DEX") built on the Vara Network blockchain. The Protocol enables users to swap tokens, provide liquidity, earn trading fees, and interact with decentralized finance ("DeFi") smart contracts in a near-gasless environment. RivrDEX operates as a non-custodial protocol — we do not hold or control your funds at any time.

3. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age and legally permitted to use blockchain-based financial services in your jurisdiction to access the Services. By using RivrDEX, you represent and warrant that you meet these eligibility requirements. You are solely responsible for ensuring that your use of the Services complies with applicable laws and regulations in your jurisdiction.

4. Non-Custodial Nature

RivrDEX is a non-custodial protocol. This means:

  • You maintain full control of your private keys and digital assets at all times.
  • RivrDEX never has access to, custody of, or control over your funds.
  • All transactions are executed directly on the Vara Network blockchain via smart contracts.
  • Lost access to your wallet cannot be recovered by RivrDEX.

5. Risk Disclosure

Using decentralized finance protocols involves significant risks. By using RivrDEX, you acknowledge and accept the following risks:

  • Smart Contract Risk: Smart contracts may contain bugs or vulnerabilities that could result in loss of funds.
  • Market Risk: Cryptocurrency values are highly volatile and can decrease rapidly.
  • Impermanent Loss: Liquidity providers may experience impermanent loss due to price fluctuations.
  • Regulatory Risk: The regulatory environment for DeFi protocols is evolving and uncertain.
  • Network Risk: The Vara Network may experience downtime, congestion, or other technical issues.
  • Liquidation Risk: Assets used in certain DeFi strategies may be subject to liquidation.

6. User Responsibilities

As a user of RivrDEX, you agree to:

  • Use the Services only for lawful purposes and in accordance with these Terms.
  • Not use the Services to engage in money laundering, fraud, or any illegal activity.
  • Maintain the security of your wallet credentials and private keys.
  • Not attempt to exploit, hack, or interfere with the Protocol or its smart contracts.
  • Not use automated bots or scripts to manipulate the Protocol in bad faith.
  • Conduct your own due diligence before making any financial decisions.

7. Prohibited Jurisdictions

The Services are not available to residents or citizens of jurisdictions where the use of decentralized exchanges or cryptocurrency trading is prohibited or restricted by law, including but not limited to countries subject to comprehensive sanctions by the United States, European Union, or United Nations. By using the Services, you represent that you are not located in, or a citizen of, any such jurisdiction.

8. Intellectual Property

The RivrDEX name, logo, website design, and associated branding are the intellectual property of RivrDEX. The underlying smart contract code deployed on Vara Network is open-source. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use RivrDEX's trademarks, trade names, or brand assets without prior written permission, except as provided in our Brand Assets guidelines available at our Brand Assets folder.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

THE SERVICES ARE PROVIDED "AS IS" AND "AS AVAILABLE" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND, EITHER EXPRESS OR IMPLIED, INCLUDING BUT NOT LIMITED TO WARRANTIES OF MERCHANTABILITY, FITNESS FOR A PARTICULAR PURPOSE, AND NON-INFRINGEMENT. RIVRDEX DOES NOT WARRANT THAT THE SERVICES WILL BE UNINTERRUPTED, ERROR-FREE, OR FREE OF HARMFUL COMPONENTS.

10. Limitation of Liability

TO THE MAXIMUM EXTENT PERMITTED BY APPLICABLE LAW, RIVRDEX AND ITS CONTRIBUTORS, DEVELOPERS, AND AFFILIATES SHALL NOT BE LIABLE FOR ANY INDIRECT, INCIDENTAL, SPECIAL, CONSEQUENTIAL, OR PUNITIVE DAMAGES, INCLUDING LOSS OF FUNDS, DATA, OR PROFITS, ARISING OUT OF OR RELATING TO YOUR USE OF THE SERVICES, EVEN IF ADVISED OF THE POSSIBILITY OF SUCH DAMAGES.

11. Third-Party Services

RivrDEX may integrate with or link to third-party services, including Vara Network, wallet providers, and analytics tools. RivrDEX is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or practices of any third-party services. Your use of third-party services is subject to their respective terms and privacy policies.

12. Modifications to Terms

RivrDEX reserves the right to modify these Terms at any time. Changes will be effective immediately upon posting to the website. Your continued use of the Services after any modification constitutes your acceptance of the updated Terms. We recommend reviewing these Terms periodically.
